America’s Most Radical Water Crisis

In 2017 the (in)famous communist rag “The Nation” celebrated Chokwe Antar Lumumba, questioning (hopefully!) whether he was “the most radical mayor in America”. Lumumba has now been in office as the mayor of Jackson, Mississippi for five years, and his current term lasts until 2025, when he can seek re-election should he so choose. In serving as Jackson’s mayor, Lumumba propose, and often carried out the usual left wing pablum such as issuing executive orders limiting police use of force tactics and working to try to ban the open carry of firearms inside city limits.

Lumumba’s father, also Chokwe Lumumba, served four years on the city council and less than a year as mayor before dying in office. The elder Lumumba was born in Detroit, with the birth name Edwin Finley Taliaferro. He moved south to Mississippi with other members of the group “Republic of New Afrika” with the intention of establishing a black nation in the Southern U.S. Their efforts eventually ended in a gunfight with the police; several members were incarcerated, but fortuitously enough Lumumba happened to be absent at the time. While rumors that the elder Lumumba was a close personal friend of Ray Epps persist, that cannot currently be verified.

At any rate, the younger Lumumba has presided over skyrocketing crime rates and declining social services, which he invariably blames on the state legislature, which, ironically enough, has to meet in Jackson. As of today that has taken a turn for the worse, as the Jackson public water works has completely failed. Jackson had already been under a boil order for a full month, which seems a bit excessive, but now there is no water pressure, period. You cannot flush a toilet in Jackson Mississippi. You cannot take a shower in Jackson, Mississippi. You cannot wash your clothes in Jackson, Mississippi. If you want to know what Michael Jackson was talking about in the song “Thriller” when he referred to “the funk of 40,000 years” try driving through Jackson with your windows cracked right now.

This is your progressive paradise. Nobody owns anything, and everyone is happy. But they’re all takin a dump in the street, they all stink to high heaven, and if it’s not bottled and shipped in from out of state then you can’t drink it. Welcome to the culmination of the dream of the Republic of New Afrika.

Church Persecution: Non-State Actors in the U.S.

I’ve talked previously about Antifa/BLM attacks on church properties, including buildings used for worship. Subsequent to the announcement of Roe being overturned, attacks against crisis pregnancy centers and church properties have escalated. The group calling itself “Jane’s Revenge” appears to be connected to the Black Bloc movement, and borrows from both their rhetoric and their tactics; considering the commonality of their ideologies it is probable that there is considerable overlap in their memberships.

If you haven’t been following the journalism of Andy Ngo as he reports on Antifa then I strongly encourage you to do so. This past weekend Ngo documented Antifa members in Portland attacking and robbing street preachers in broad daylight, in front of hordes of witnesses, in a tourist/market area, with absolutely no interference from law enforcement. Ngo has also documented Antifa attacks on public religious gatherings on the West Coast in the past; their are large swaths of western Oregon and Washington State where Antifa can act with impunity, and in many instances has more de facto authority and power on the street than do the police.

Lest you think this is strictly a west coast/blue state problem, Ngo documented today how the Antifa affiliated John Brown Gun Club showed up in Black Bloc to intimidate potential protesters at a “family friendly” drag show in Roanoke, TX. The JBGC went so far as to post multiple snipers atop an adjacent parking garage while staging teams armed with AR-15s around the area where the drag show was taking place. Roanoke is in Denton County, which is controlled entirely by the Republican party. If it can happen there, it can happen just about anywhere.

All of which is to say, it is only a matter of time before one of these groups decides to initiate a “direct action” against a church building while it is occupied. Jane’s Revenge has already threatened to do this if churches do not cease support for crisis pregnancy centers and if those centers are not shut down. These groups are heavily armed, and some, such as the John Brown Gun Club, have been training for an escalation in violence.

The history of socialist/communist/atheist groups in other countries through the 19th century until today demonstrates a universal, unwavering pattern of attacking churches. This has happened, without fail, in every locale where these groups take or attempt to take power. The fact that such has so far been limited in the U.S. is largely due to the fact that Americans are by and large an armed populace.

The question is not whether, but when such an attack will take place. The next question is what the various congregations of Christians around the nation should be doing to prepare. The answer for far too many is currently “we’re doing nothing, we’ll just call the police.” Additionally, many Christians have a misguided notion that “violence is always wrong” or that “violence never settled anything.” I believe this demonstrates a profound lack of wisdom, and should be addressed immediately.

So what is your church doing to prepare? And what are you doing personally? Serious suggestions are of course welcome.

You never know, so always prepare… https://theothermccain.com/2022/08/29/another-loser-with-a-manifesto/

George W. Bush a Secret Muslim?

So, much ado has been made over the years of the possibility that President Obama might be a secret Muslim. Various writers have explicated various reasons for believing this, some more convincingly than others. Having observed President Obama’s lifestyle I would have to surmise that if he is a Muslim, he’s not a very good one. I rather suspect he’s agnostic and most likely atheist, but he proclaims himself a Christian although he doesn’t seem to be any better at that religion than he is at Islam.

At any rate, I believe that I can make a better case for President George W. Bush being a secret Muslim than I could for Obama. In my previous article I explored the constitution of Iraq and contrasted the embrace of Islamic Nationalism contained therein with the hullabaloo that our “elites” on both sides of the dual ruling party class make over any mention of Christian Nationalism. Yet as bad as the comparison to the Iraqi constitution may be, the Afghan constitution is even worse.

The Afghan constitution came to be in 2004, three years after the 9/11 attacks on our country. Allow me to say at this point, although it will be offensive to some, that I firmly believe that Al Qaeda did indeed carry out the attacks, and that the initial military response of the U.S. was legally and morally justified. That is not to say our intelligence agencies did their jobs properly before or after the attacks, but that is a discussion for another post.

At any rate, after U.S. forces invaded Iraq and successfully uprooted the Taliban and Al Qaeda, we decided it was time to do some nation building. Never mind that we had not yet taken care of Bin Laden, or that Al Qaeda was regrouping across the border with aid from Pakistan’s ISI, our fearless leaders bravely decided it was time to make Afghanistan safe for democracy…. As long as it would be Islamic Nationalist Democracy. After all, what could go wrong with that.

So, a few excerpts from the Afghani Constitution put in place by the U.S. and its coalition allies….

Believing firmly in Almighty God, relying on His divine will and adhering to the Holy
religion of Islam
; Yep, that’s right there in the preamble. Can we put this in the U.S. Constitution and replace “Islam” with “Christianity?” Remember, this is the constitution that the U.S. put in place under the leadership of W., just as was the Iraqi constitution. Seems odd for a Christian president to go to war against muslim nations and then declare Islam the supreme law of the land.

Article 1: Afghanistan shall be an Islamic Republic, independent, unitary and indivisible state

Can you imagine the shrieking from the Bush/Cheney crowd if we were to replace “Islamic” with “Christian” and put it in place in this country?

From Article 2: The sacred religion of Islam is the religion of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

Would George W. Bush be willing to affirm that the sacred religion of Christianity is the religion of the United States of America? Oh no, there is no way that’s going to happen. Please, feel free to correct me if you can offer any evidence whatsoever that I am mistaken on this one.

Article 3
No law shall contravene the tenets and provisions of the holy religion of Islam in
Afghanistan.

How about “No law shall contravene the tenets and provisions of the holy religion of Christianity in
the United States”? Would that be allowable?

Article 17
The state shall adopt necessary measures to foster education at all levels, develop
religious teachings, regulate and improve the conditions of mosques, religious schools as
well as religious centers.

Okay seriously, U.S. soldiers were forced to build and protect madrassas with constant prayer and study of Sharia and Jihad, while their own children in U.S. schools were not allowed to pray and taught their fathers were filthy murderers. Separation of mosque and state anyone? No? This was written by the same people who assure you that if we allowed prayer in public schools the world would come to an immediate end. It’s not prayer they’re against, it’s Who you’re praying to that they oppose.

Okay, now this one is REALLY interesting….

Article 41
Foreign individuals shall not have the right to own immovable property in Afghanistan.

Under the 2004 Constitution, a U.S. citizen could not own property or fixed structures in Afghanistan, nor could any other foreign national. All real property within Afghanistan is to be owned only by Afghanis. Now personally, I believe this is a good and just law. That being said, how many foreign entities and citizens own vast swaths of land in the U.S.? For that matter, how much farmland is owned by nations who are undeniably hostile to the U.S.? Why does our government deny us the same level of protection it provided to the Afghani people?

From Article 62:

The individual who becomes a presidential candidate shall have the following
qualifications:

  1. Shall be a citizen of Afghanistan, Muslim, born of Afghan parents and shall not be
    a citizen of another country;

Okay, if we straight up enforced this in the U.S. then Obama could never have been President, as it is not disputed that his father was a Kenyan citizen.

Since George W saw this implemented in Afghanistan, what might his opinion be of stating that the U.S. citizen must be a Christian? If you are going to mandate a Muslim president in a nation you just conquered, yet call yourself a Christian, why should you oppose a mandate for a Christian President in your own nation? There are only so many possible answers for that question.

This document, along with the Iraqi constitution, make it clear that the GOPe of the Bush/Cheney clans were never on the side of American Christians. It would be as if, after successfully winning World War II, Truman had announced we were enshrining Shinto as the official religion of Japan and the Nazi party as the official rulers of Germany. What would the response of Americans in 1945 have been to such an outrage? Why are we so different?

The GOPe Support for Islamic Nationalism

In 2003, in order to eradicate Saddam Hussein’s WMDs and make the world safe for democracy and stamp out international terrorism the U.S. invaded Iraq. The Iraqi military fared no better against U.S. forces than they had the first time around, and the U.S. quickly took Baghdad and most of the country. The Bremer took over, and as we have already discussed, things quickly fell apart.

Nevertheless, the U.S. held on and kept fighting to stabilize the country we had so effectively destabilized. As part of this process, we followed a precedent we had set after World War II and created a constitution for the Iraqi people, who in due course voted for it.

Now, every time some GOPe tells us that we cannot force our religious views on others, and that Christian Nationalism is anathema to freedom, we need to recall some key provisions from the constitution written by the U.S. for the nation of Iraq…. https://www.uscirf.gov/publications/iraqs-permanent-constitution-march-2006

First of all, we helpfully inserted, as the principle principle of Iraqi law, from Article 2:

First: Islam is the official religion of the State and is a foundation source of legislation:

A. No law may be enacted that contradicts the established provisions of Islam

Now suppose we were to add an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and replace the word “Islam” with “Christianity.” Do you suppose President George W. Bush, who oversaw this imposition of Sharia upon the Iraqi people, would endorse a similar stand for Christianity in the United States? If not, then one must ask, why not?

Next, the Iraqi constitution stipulates:

Second: This Constitution guarantees the Islamic identity of the majority of the Iraqi people and guarantees the full religious rights to freedom of religious belief and practice of all individuals such as Christians, Yazidis, and Mandean Sabeans.

Two things strike me immediately. Could we amend our Constitution with such a statement if we simply replaced “Islamic” with “Christian”? If not, why not? Clearly our betters in the GOPe have no problem with establishing a religious state and calling it a democracy at the same time. Did we really go to war to make the world safe for Sharia?

Secondly: Who is left out of this statement? Oh, you know who… Don’t say you don’t. And then these same people accuse the (ahem) “other than mainstream” right of being anti-semitic. The gaul, the nerve, really it’s just too much.

Continuing along, in this lovely Iraqi constitution, penned under the watchful eye of the GOPe elite who led us into glorious war…

Under international standards, a state may declare an official state religion, provided basic rights, including the individual right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief, are respected for all without discrimination.

Would these same “international standards” allow the citizens of the U.S. to declare Christianity our “official state religion?” Once again, if not, why not? George W definitely wore his evangelicalism on his sleeve when running for office, yet now he seems far more comfortable with Sharia than Jesus Christ. Did he backslide, or was he just playing us all along? Or is it something else entirely?

Still more from the same document…

The framework of Art. 2, including establishing Islam as a “foundation source of legislation” and prohibiting any law “that contradicts the established provisions of Islam” or “the rights and basic freedoms” provided in the constitution, follows the compromises developed in Iraq’s Transitional Administrative Law (TAL), with some slight variations.

Could We the People of the United States amend this into our own Constitution, simply replacing the work “Islam” with “Christianity?” What do you think our “elites” would have to say about such a matter? On the other hand, were it to be put to a popular vote, what would we choose? A few years ago I would have been confident that a large majority of the American people would support such a covenant; now I fear even a simple majority might be out of reach.

At any rate, the next time a member of the GOPe “conservative” branch lectures us about not pushing our religion on others, we are entitled to an explanation of how our service members had Sharia pushed upon them and were forced to defend it after the sacrifices they made to overthrow Hussein. It seems doubtful that so many would have volunteered for military service had they known it would become dhimmitude.

On Christian Nationalism

I never set out to be a member of the (ahem) “other than mainstream” right. I happily considered myself a good Republican, cheerfully voting for George W. and appreciating the gravitas Dick Cheney brought to the ticket. Then 9/11 came and the U.S. went to war, first in Afghanistan, then Iraq. I watched President Bush being interviewed, probably of Fox News, and heard him say that our strength as a nation lay in our commitment to democracy.

This was a death knell for many of my beliefs. I knew full well that previous generations had attributed our nation’s success to God and His Providence. Through wars and droughts and depressions our leaders had encouraged the people to pray to God for His strength and protection. Now President Bush, who had worn his religion on his sleeve when running for office, attributed our strength to the popular vote, which, ironically enough, he had not won.

For many of my fellow citizens, democracy is the end all and be all of freedom and civilization. How odd, quaint and uninformed they are in this delusion. Even our nation’s founders had no such ideas, and established a constitutional republic, and that only after very serious considerations of setting up a new monarchy. Our founders feared democracy, and rightfully so, for it ever devolves to mob rule. Democracy does not, and by its very nature cannot, guarantee freedom.

Our country was founded on the ideals of John Locke, who recognized God-given freedoms as an essential element of every human life. Thus the Declaration of Independence spoke of rights given by our Creator, not bestowed by the state via a national plebiscite. Conversely, the leaders of the French revolution embraced Rousseau, who held that individual rights must be surrendered to the state for the common good. Likewise, while many of the leaders of the American Revolution were Deists, the French Revolution was guided by an aesthetic of atheism, which led to the Reign of Terror and decades of war across Europe.

America’s problems today universally stem from a rejection of God and His word. Some mistakenly call for a return to “Judeo-Christian values” which is a triple misnomer. First of all, observant Jews are offended at being lumped in with Christians; secondly orthodox (small o) Christianity is not the same as Judaism; finally we are seeking find God, not justify our own values, or lack thereof.

Now we might well say we should establish our nation on “Biblical tenants” as the Old Testament has much more to say about civil government than does the New. Recognizing the God of the Bible as the nation’s rightful ruler, One who sits above all magistrates on Earth, would be a good start.

It seems at this point we must accept that the first amendment is not perfect as written, as much as it may pain us to admit such. The fact is that the prohibition on Congress making any laws regarding the exercise of religion was an attempt by our founding fathers to establish a sort of Treaty of Westphalia amongst the colonies, where each could practice its own form of Christianity as they saw fit without interference from the federal government. Today that has morphed into a system where sodomite orgies and anarchist riots are protected speech, while praying together in church is not.

So what can and should we do about this systemic failure? First, acknowledge God in all we do. Accept that there will be a day of reckoning for the shedding of innocent blood that has stained our streets, as well as the acceptance and then promotion of every sexual perversion imaginable. Our nation has sown the wind, the harvest will necessarily come at some point. On a personal level pray that God is merciful, and that He will provide a passing over so that those who still seek Him will be spared in the day of wrath. He has done this before, perhaps in His mercy He will do so again.

If, and this is a big if, we are given a chance to begin to rebuild our nation, much of what our founders wrote will still be of value. But this time, from the get go, we must explicitly state that this country is founded under God, and that Christianity will be our religion and the guide for all our laws. Now, as to Catholic v. Orthodox v. Protestant, I will have more to say later, Lord willing. Perhaps a good starting point would be the Nicean Creed as a universal declaration or oath for holding office. Are there any suggestions?

A Meditation in Preparation

From Psalm 27, KJV

Verse 1. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Whom do you fear in this life? Can they extinguish the light of God? Can the remove your salvation? Of course not. Are they as strong as God? No? Then do not fear. The vaxx is not the strength of your life. Masks are not the strength of your life. Being locked in is not the strength of your life. These are all born of fear.

Verse 2. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

“Jane’s Revenge” has told us what they intend for churches that defend innocent life. The federal bureaucracy is being arrayed against us. Is God your strength and your refuge? Then do not fear.

Verse 3. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident

The greater the army brought against God’s people, the greater His glory when He delivers us.

Verse 4. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the peace that passes all understanding and life eternal are yours.

Verse 5. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock

Why do we worry ourselves sick about coming times of trouble? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Verse 6. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Paul and Silas were beaten and imprisoned in stocks, and reacted by singing praise to God. The result was their freedom and the conversion of the Phillipian jailer, which began the church in Phillipi.

Verse 7.  Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me

Do you believe God will hear you? Do you believe He has mercy, and that He answers prayer. The prayer of faith from a righteous man is more powerful than all the armies of any wicked ruler.

Verse 8. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

Seek and you will find, ask and it will be given unto you, knock and the door will be opened.

Verse 9. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

Always seek God. His mercy is everlasting.

Verse 10. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up

A man’s foes will be those of his own household, but God will never forsake you. I think of the children willingly sacrificed to Molech in the abortionists’ abattoirs of this nation, and I pray that God has taken them up unto Himself.

Verse 11.  Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

God will protect His own. He will show His people the true path. Study for knowledge, pray for wisdom.

Verse 12.  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty

SJWs are always around. Perjury is not punished by the country’s courts, and liars believe themselves invincible. “Jane’s Revenge” breathes out threatenings and slaughters against the church. God will not deliver us to them.

Verse 13. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living

I have seen the goodness of the Lord in my home state. If your state still has active altars of Molech, I pray that you too will soon see what I have seen.

Verse 14. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

He is coming. But until He arrives we must be strong. He will make us strong if we trust Him. Pray and prepare.

Is Your Church Ready for Persecution?

As you may have read, the FBI has begun an investigation of the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest protestant denomination in the U.S. Interestingly, former President Bill Clinton was a member of the SBC before and during his presidency, although he has since left over the church’s position on social issues, and definitely not over the church’s position on interns. Likewise, Senator Ted Cruz is a member of the SBC, as is former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. President Harry Truman was likewise a member of the SBC, which may in part explain his predilection for fire and brimstone. In point of fact the list of former and current politicians of BOTH parties who are or were members of the SBC is too lengthy to go into here.

As well as being the largest protestant denomination in the U.S., the SBC has traditionally been one of the most conservative. Each congregation is independent, but as a whole the group has strongly opposed progressivism on matters such as abortion and sodomy. This grassroots opposition has cost progressive candidates many elections, especially in the Southern U.S. where the group is most prevalent (as might be guessed by their name).

All of this is to say that if you are a protestant, and not a member of the SBC, your church is numerically smaller and has far less financial and political power than that group. The only religious group in the U.S. with more power is the Roman Catholic church, which under its current leadership seems to already be firmly on the side of the “progressives.” By coming after the SBC the FBI is flexing its muscle in order to intimidate and suppress any domestic opposition to the progressive agenda. It can hardly be coincidence that the FBI went after President Trump, Republican legislators from Pennsylvania, and the SBC all at the same time, although the number three seems significant here if you’re in to that sort of thing.

Additionally, the IRS has been given funding to hire tens of thousands of new enforcers. We are already at a point where churches (such as the United Church of Christ, which by the way is completely unconnected to the churches of Christ) that push the progressive political line from pulpit are given a free pass, whereas preaching “conservative” politics from the pulpit can get your tax-exempt status revoked faster than you can say “abortion is murder.” Many churches have land, valuable buildings, and large treasuries; it will be a heady temptation to the IRS to look for any opportunity to revoke their tax-exempt status and seize their assets. It’s not as if this hasn’t happened before in France, Russia, etc. whenever progressives take over.

So what is your church’s plan for this? Does your individual congregation have a plan? If not, why not? We are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Pray Our Way Out

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

It’s become a bit of a cliché for those on the right, especially the (ahem) “other-than-mainstream” right, to observe the mess our nation and our culture are in and observe, “We aren’t going to vote our way out of this.” This is both right and wrong, depending on how you look at the problem. As a matter of full disclosure, I am a registered voter and I vote in almost every election, including primaries. I voted for President Trump both times he won, and look forward to voting in his third victory; nevertheless, even if 45 becomes 47, that will not solve the problems we face.

America’s problems are spiritual. The replacement of fathers and husbands by government is a spiritual failure. The replacement of the church by the state is a spiritual failure. The replacement of mothers by daycare is a spiritual failure. The replacement of young marriage by hook up culture is a spiritual failure. The replacement of slut shaming by chastity shaming is a spiritual failure. Each one of these could be a lengthy post in its own right, and this list is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m sure every reader here could come up with many, many examples to add to this list. The name of our nation’s spiritual failures is legion, for they are many.

This is not to say, however, that we should turn our backs on civil government, nor should we abdicate what power we have in the decision making process of our society. Trump was and remains spiritually imperfect; his decision to embrace the alphabet people’s movement being the foremost example. Nonetheless, he at least understands the importance of God and scripture to preserving the fiber of the people, and so long as he recognizes that we can genuinely hope he will continue to grow closer to God and the execution of His will. I fear there is little reason to hope for such in the camp of his opposition.

Augustine famously opined that we should pray as if everything depends on God and work as if everything depends on us. Although there is much of Augustine’s writing I find wanting, I believe he was correct in this statement. Part of that work is to encourage the best men possible to do the best they can, and that includes giving our vote to them when they run for office. Had Clinton won in 2016 Roe would still be in force, and there would still be abortion clinics openly plying Molech’s trade in my home state. So at least in that, voting accomplished something of great worth.

Still, humility requires us to acknowledge that this is beyond our strength. On the other hand, moving a mountain is also beyond our strength, but Christ said if we have faith we can move mountains. So when considering whether to vote, consider the possibility your vote can be a leap of faith. My vote was no more capable of bringing about Roe’s demise than David’s stone was capable of bringing down a giant. I launched it in faith, and after prayer for wisdom.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I Corinthians 13, NKJV

I do not know how any action of mine can change the course of evil in my country, but in faith I will try.

I do not know how any action of mine can overcome this evil, but I have true hope of victory through Christ.

I do not know what the earthly outcome of this battle will be, but I love my country, and I love my son and want a better tomorrow for him, so I will not give up. LOVE NEVER FAILS.

Aspiring Rapper Death Rate

If you peruse the news with regular views you’re sure to find that many a young man gunned down in his prime will be described by kith and kin as a “rapper” or an “aspiring rapper.” Now it comes as no news whatsoever that the modern rap lyricist is primarily concerned with drugs and prostitution, although not always in that order. The aspiring and otherwise who meet untimely ends are most commonly those in pursuit of gain through recreational pharmaceuticals, and while the death rate for this particular job might seem daunting to most, the beat must go on. Why is it, though, that so many young men, especially young Black men, aspire to be rappers?

At one time I took a contract to teach courses at a local junior college with multiple campuses; the particular campus I was assigned was known as JC “X” “In the Hood.” Most of the students were there at the behest of their parole officers, and according to the students, nearly all were on probation for drug offenses, although one never really knows for sure. At any rate, these young Black men on parole for drug offenses had a nearly singular obsession for a career…. They all wanted to be “music producers.” Knowing something of music myself, I inquired as to their musical education and talents. To a man they had none whatsoever. Not a single aspiring “music producer” in the lot could tell a treble cleft from a bass note or had the slightest idea what a scale is. None had ever played a musical instrument of any sort, either in school or out. The overwhelming majority were barely aware of the existence of something called “sheet music.” In short, they knew nothing whatsoever about the product they purported to aspire to produce, yet all were fully confident of their ability to be “music producers.”

While this may seem amusing, you will find that if you take the time to listen to contemporary rap music, their goals are not so ludicrous as they seem. Rappers rely mostly on “sampling” for the music in their compositions, which simply means they rip off a genuine musician and place his music in front of their lyrics. Now unless you think this is a racist observation (should you care about such things) the most notorious example of this in rap history is Vanilla Ice, who is even whiter than his name would suggest, heist of the work of Queen and David Bowie, who were also white. Apparently white on white crime is a thing in the rap community.

“Mumble rap” is currently a big thing, with the artist in question mumbling “lyrics” into a microphone, which may or may not be intelligible, then having his slurred syllables heavily synthesized. Now how, exactly, can you make money off of that? It requires no real talent, anyone with an i-phone and a laptop can “produce” it, and it is ridiculously generic…. anyone can do it. How do you make millions doing something anyone can do?

Quick answer? You can’t, and they don’t. Yes, millions of dollars come in, often to “artists” who appeared overnight and offer nothing different than tens of thousands of others putting their material onto various websites available for free. So where does the money come from?

Well, here’s what you need to know about rap studios… They are often connected with organized gangs. The Gangster Disciples, Bloods, Crips, Vice Lords, etc. all have a variety of rap “artists” who claim affiliation with they gang. The primary monetary income of all these gangs is, unsurprisingly, drugs. Now, if you were an enterprising young drug lord, and wanted to find a way to launder your profits through a legitimate business, what would you choose?

What I’m saying is that there are millions (billions?) of dollars of music purchases every year that are not real consumers. The purchases are made by the same gangs running the studios, using third parties to buy music with money from drug sales. The rap music industry is currently one of the greatest, if not greatest, instruments of money laundering for drug gangs in the United States.

Now, if you care to know, the DOJ maintains a website https://nationalgangcenter.ojp.gov/ for gang information. Until recently this website updated daily with information on gang activity on a state-by-state level that allowed the public to keep tabs on gangs in their area to some degree. However, on 11/23/20 the DOJ stopped these updates. I am not sure what happened in November of 2020 to lead the DOJ to decide to keep the public in the dark about gang activity; if you can think of what it possibly could have been, please feel free to let me know in the comments.

More later.

Ignorance is Their Strength

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4, KJV

From 1872 until 2019, if you were an able-bodied adult in the state of California and observed a law-enforcement officer trying to effect an arrest, and if that officer requested your assistance, you were bound by state law to offer whatever assistance you were able to give. Failure to do so was a misdemeanor crime.

As BLM and Antifa gained power through violent riots following any questionable police shooting, as well as many which were unquestionably justified, leftists politicians looked to hitch their wagon to what they saw as a rising star. I have often heard that politicians, especially Democrats, give in to BLM and Antifa because they are spineless; I believe, however, that what is more often the case is that these politicians find cover behind rioters to enact policies they already favored but were unable to push forward.

In 2019 the California state legislature repealed the state’s posse comitatus act, and Governor Newsom signed the repeal. You can now feel free to ignore a law enforcement officer in distress in California without fear of legal repercussions. This is especially distressing today, for as anyone who pays attention is well aware, aiding law enforcement in stopping a criminal might well lead to civil and criminal actions against you for assisting the officer. Police officers receive qualified immunity while making arrests, but insofar as I am aware such protection is afforded a non-leo who lends assistance to the police.

Now what is especially galling is the justification for repealing the act given by California Democrats; I will include examples from California State Senator Bob Hertzberg, whose written statements defined the reasoning for his party’s actions. Herzberg stated, “The posse comitatus was adopted by local jurisdictions in America’s earliest days; officials invoked posse comitatus in the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which said that civilians could be recruited to capture people who were trying to escape from slavery. In a more sinister example, many posses that formed became lynch mobs rather than legitimate law enforcement assistance.

Now, to take this statement seriously, one must have a colossal level of ignorance of both U.S. history and California state history. First of all, California was a free state and stood with the union during the Civil War. Slavery was never legal in California after it became a part of the United States. Now, although it was illegal, it was at times practiced, just as it continues to be practiced today in the illegal human trafficking system aided and abetted by the Democratic party, which remains true to form. Nevertheless, NOT ONE SINGLE SLAVE was ever arrested under the posse comitatus act. NONE. NADA. ZERO.

And how do I know this? The posse comitatus act in California was passed in 1872. Things that preceded the passage of this act include:

  1. The Emancipation Proclamation
  2. The End of the Civil War
  3. The 13th Amendment
  4. The 14th Amendment
  5. The 15th Amendment

I could go on, but is there really any need?

The Democrats, in typical fashion, used race-baiting language and ridiculously spurious allegations to push for a widening of the divide between local law enforcement officers and the communities they serve. To give any credence to their argumentation, one must be completely ignorant of history. Fortunately for the Democrats, and not so much for the rest of us, ignorance of history is virtually guaranteed amongst generations “educated” by public schools, and is even more prevalent amongst recent immigrants who are being lined up to vote, regardless of legal status. This ignorance will lead to a furthering of the violent crime problem sweeping our country; until we remember the ways of our ancestors we will not find the will to defeat the Vandals amongst us.
