Where the Blame Lies

Recently, Jack over at Sigma Frame has run a series of pieces on female agency. His latest is a 22 point bulletin list of things men should do to reclaim proper headship in the home/society/church for the purpose of properly directing women. I have, however, noticed one thing missing, and I am going to address that here.

³ The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

⁴ That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁵ To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2, KJV

The apostle, writing through Divine inspiration, tasks the older women with teaching the younger women.

They are to teach them to be “sober” (SOPHRON) “denotes of sound mind; hence self-controlled, soberminded…. discrete.” (Vines NT Dictionary).

So right off the bat, older women are to be teaching younger women to be discrete and self-controlled; in other words the opposite of what the boomers taught to their children.

To love their husbands is NOT agape here, it is philandros, and to love their children is philoteknos. Both of these terms denote “tender affection” towards the object of the expressed love; hence Paul is teaching that young women must be taught how to even have warm affection towards their husbands and children, and that the older women are responsible to teach this to them. I suppose in our culture of death, with so many advocating abortion on demand up to five years of age, it should not be surprising that affection for one’s own children does not come naturally to many young women. Indeed, in Romans Paul warned of those “without natural affection.”

Verse 5 repeats Sophron/discrete. Apparently this was something difficult to teach young women since Paul lists it twice in one sentence. If young women are to be discrete, one may suppose it would be best to separate them from social media; a less discrete forum for a lack of sober mindedness would be difficult to imagine.

Chaste, (HAGNOS), is to be “(a) pure from every fault, immaculate.” How many churches today stress the importance of young women maintaining their chastity, that is that young women are expected to be virgins (and not just “technical” virgins) going into marriage? The primary responsibility for this teaching lies with the older women, and their failure is evident.

Good (AGATHOS), “good in its character or constitution, beneficial.” Young women must be taught to be beneficial towards others, and especially their own husbands and children. Older women have the God given responsibility to teach this.

Obedient to their own husbands…. Is there a church anywhere today where the older women teach this to the younger? Do the women of the baby boomer generation, who are now the older women, teach this to the younger generations? To ask the question invites derision.

That the word of God be not blasphemed…. The conduct of so many “Christian” women is an open disgrace to the name of Christ. The faithful are scandalized; outsiders see a clown show of which they want no part.

Where does the fault lie? It lies directly with the older women who have shirked their duty and failed their children and grandchildren.

We often hear of the need to call women into line. Well heads up, that’s going to have to start with grandma, and if she’s a boomer she’s probably breaking every commandment Paul lists here. So go ahead, call them out. Grandma, we need to have a talk this Christmas, and you need to get right with God.

Welcome to My Illegal Blog

Okay, well semi-illegal, at least. Mostly because I’m not making any money at this. Please understand, I have no aversion to making money for what I write, I just haven’t set this blog up for that purpose. If you feel you really need to send me some money, leave a comment and I’ll almost certainly get back to you on that.

At any rate… The New York legislature recently passed a law making New York state the supreme grand overlord for the internet, and NY AG Letitia James has now set out to out do the Spanish Inquisition, and of course no one expected that. Specifically, New York’s new law requires that I have on my blog a mechanism with which any of the rare denizens of this obscure corner of the internet who happen to peruse this site may report any hate speech they stumble across in the comment section (and perhaps in my own writing as well, the garbled language of NY’s law is somewhat unclear on that point.)

By “hate speech” New York means,

§  394-CCC.  SOCIAL  MEDIA NETWORKS; HATEFUL CONDUCT PROHIBITED. 1. AS
 USED IN THIS SECTION, THE FOLLOWING TERMS SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MEAN-
 INGS:
   (A) "HATEFUL CONDUCT" MEANS THE USE OF A SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORK TO VILI-
 FY, HUMILIATE, OR INCITE VIOLENCE AGAINST A GROUP OR A CLASS OF  PERSONS
 ON THE BASIS OF RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, ETHNICITY, NATIONAL ORIGIN, DISA-
 BILITY, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY OR GENDER EXPRESSION.

I have recently been informed that pedophilia is a sexual orientation, that such persons are now to be called "MAPs" (minor attracted persons), and that to refer to their still illegal behaviors as grooming is "hate speech."  Hence, this law would obligate me to refrain from such speech, and report anyone "vilifying" pedophiles by calling them pedophiles and/or groomers.  Of course since my actual position is to advocate the summary execution of pedophiles I suppose I've gone a bit past that point.

But Okrahead, you may say, you don't even live in New York.  You live over a thousand miles from New York.  What difference does New York law make to you?  Well, that's a good question, and the answer is that NY (and AG James) have appointed themselves grand overseers of any content that may even be seen by New Yorkers, which is anything, anywhere, anytime if it's on the internet.

We have reached a curious juncture in our history... "Virtual" child pornography is protected by the 1st amendment (Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition), pornography, including violent depictions of (simulated) rape, is ubiquitous and freely available to our youth via the omnipresent "smart phone," our most celebrated musical performance is the execrable "W.A.P."; and yet to post Biblical scripture directly condemning sodomy is now to be treated as a crime.

Not only is this the case, but unless you happen to live in New York state, you have no say in the matter.  A.G. James may well target blogs such as this in the very near future.  I neither reside, vote in, or travel to N.Y. state, yet that state has seen fit to announce it is suspending my civil liberties and outlawing my religion.  Can someone tell me again, what is the definition of "casus belli"?
